When I used wired earbuds, I fell in love with JVC Gummis. Cheap, and they sounded good. But AirPods fit in my ears perfectly, sound great, and I have dropped them maybe three times and never lost them. (We won't talk about the time they went through the wash...thank heavens for AppleCare.)
I know I can get by with cheaper stuff. I keep some around as backups in case my main things fall apart or go walkabout. But I've reached the point in my life where I can afford to (wisely) buy good quality tech. Apple, for instance, tends to have excellent build quality -- laptops that work bette and longer than many of their Windows counterparts -- and I like their operating systems better than Android or Windows
