The OM-1 was my first 35mm SLR. I used it professionally as a reporter/photographer for the newspaper in a eastern Washington wheat town in the late 70s. It was a joy to use: it fit perfectly in the hand, was light yet not at all delicate, and the mirror and shutter together made a satisfying clunk.

Years later, I traded it for one Pentax or another as my new wife and I combined our photo hardware, but I'll never forget that OM-1! Nice article, thank you!
