Thanks for a very interesting article, Paul. I stare a backlit screens so much my eyes are often sore, so the Kindle is a welcome relief, and where I do most of my long-form reading (even substantial blog posts, which I transfer with Push To Kindle add-in for the FireFox browser).
I use Feedbin for RSS subscriptions because, in addition to newsletters, it allows me to follow Twitter feeds without actually interacting with Twitter (unless I choose to respond to someone I follow or create an original Tweet of my own). It's a far more sane way to follow a few people!
I disklike Feedbin's user interface, though, so I'm currently reading via NetNewsWire.
