Linux is not Unix. I'm not aware that AT&T or any of the other owners of Unix complained about Linux, because Torvalds didn't steal any of their code -- he just used their ideas.

Sad. I don't know what code is if it is not ideas. That said, why did he name it Linux if it was not Unix? When I was faculty at Rutgers (76-78) and my wife-to-be at Bell Labs supporting "Programmers Workbench Unix" ... her job was writing shell…
