It's not that I don't believe you, but it's also not obvious. I've never built a hackintosh because I've limited myself to laptops over the years (no space for a desktop computer), but I understand the difficulty of finding PC hardware that will work well with the Macintosh OS. That's why I wondered what the difficulties and benefits are of a VM, with its even more limited set of emulated hardware.
