I didn’t write the article, but if you’re referring to my response, I apologize because I certainly didn’t mean it to sound that way. I do question your assumption that your sexual values are “better” than those of other people, however. It seems too many people put the whole weight of the concept of “morality” on sexual behavior, rather than taking into account other moral values such as compassion, charity, justice, etc. Both Kennedy and Johnson displayed morally positive values in their work in government, even if their sexual behavior was out the norm.
The word “Puritan” doesn’t carry positive connotations, to me at least.
