A lovely story. I read the book a few years after it came out, in the mid-60s. when I was in 4th or 5th grade. Being male, I didn't have the background of reading girls' books, but I don't remember thinking Meg was an unusual or objectionable protagonist. A Wrinkle In Time remains one of my favorites over 50 years later, and I try to slip it into my "to be read" pile every few years.
